Make the Perfect Shrimp Cocktail!
USA Gulf White Shrimp wins awards for taste and quality. With each net, our American crew pulls loads of jumbo, healthy shrimp. Wild-caught is key. No preservatives, steroids, or farm raising for the perfect shrimp. Clean waters, marshy grasses, and an abundance of food gives USA shrimp a natural buttery taste and firm tender texture. Just savor the difference and you’ll notice the superior succulence in Gulf shrimp compared to overseas competitors. Diners demand the best shrimp and search for restaurants who serve it. How about impressing your own dinner guests with shrimp caught along Texas’s, Alabama’s, Mississippi’s, and of course, Louisiana’s coastlines!
Begin the meal with a delicious appetizer, shrimp cocktail.
Prepare the broth that will enhance the taste. 10 cups cold water, 2 medium carrots (quartered), 2 stalks celery (quartered), 1 large onion (quartered), 1 head garlic (halved), 1 lb. Gulf White Shrimp, 1 tbsp. Kosher salt, ½ bunch parsley, 5 sprigs fresh thyme, 2 bay leaves, cocktail sauce, and lemon wedges.
Combine the broth. Stir together on high heat until a boil, water, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, lemon, parsley, bay leaves, and thyme.
Introduce the shrimp. Turn heat completely off and allow the shrimp to cook for about 3 minutes. Once you notice a pink and the shrimp curl, you’re set. Drain and cool and pick out the shrimp from the broth ingredients. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Finally, peel the shells off and devein the digestive tract with a fine knife. Leave the end of the tail on the shrimp as a handy “handle” for serving the delicacy.
Serve with a Sauvignon Blanc. A light floral and citrusy white wine will wash down the slightly salty and buttery shrimp majestically!
